JUMP: A Haring Center Experience is a unique day camp specifically designed for children with and without disabilities. In summer 2018, JUMP will run five different STEM themed camps, over the course of seven weeks. All JUMP programs strive to get kids exploring and making discoveries in their community. JUMP is based out of the University of Washington Haring Center in Seattle.

JUMP is proud to offer professional development opportunities to aspiring educators and those currently working in the field who want to learn how to support children with special needs and create an inclusive learning environment. All camp staff and volunteers will participate in ongoing training over the course of camp, engaging in experiential learning, as well as didactic sessions lead by experts in the field, directed readings, and receiving ongoing training as part of the JUMP Professional Learning Community. Volunteers will also participate in a three-day training prior to the beginning of camp, at the Experimental Education Unit. This training focuses on the building blocks of inclusion, strategies for addressing challenging behaviors, pivotal response treatment, supporting social skills, among other topics.
