Thank you for your interest in the UW Autism Center’s Apex Summer Camp. We offer 7-week clinical internships to graduate and undergraduate students focusing on medicine, psychology, education, speech language pathology, occupational therapy, nursing, and related fields.

Apex Summer Camp is a 5-week intensive therapeutic day camp designed specifically for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).The program is based at the University of Washington Autism Center in Seattle and is conducted in collaboration with the Seattle Children’s PEARL Clinic.

We offer expert training to graduate and undergraduate students interested in gaining a unique clinical experience working with children with ASD and ADHD. Supervision is provided by licensed psychologists, board certified behavior analysts, and speech-language pathologists. Undergraduate course credit is also available.

All staff members complete two weeks of intensive training. This includes didactic sessions, directed readings, case-reviews and supervision, and rehearsal and practice of program components. Consulting experts will present on key topics related to autism spectrum disorders and ADHD including etiology, applied behavior analysis, pivotal response treatment, social skills training, data-based evaluation, and principles of autism intervention.

In addition, two letters of reference are required. Letters of reference should be from professors or supervisors, to whom you are not related, who can attest to your skills in relevant areas.
