Thank you for your interest in attending the Friday January 31, 2025 Washington State Autism Center of Excellence (COE) Certification course offered through the University of Washington's Institute on Human Development and Disability.

The Washington State Health Care Authority sponsors the Autism COE training to expand access to autism evaluations and supports, including Applied Behavioral Analysis, for children and youth with Medicaid insurance in Washington State.

COE eligible clinicians are currently MDs, DOs, ARNPs, PhD/PsyD clinical psychologists and licensed Naturopathic Physicians (NDs) serving Washington State children and youth who have Medicaid insurance. PA-Cs who have a supervisor who is a COE are also eligible.

Neurologists, psychiatrists, psychologists, and developmental-behavioral pediatricians are automatically able to diagnose autism but may find helpful the Washington specific requirements and resource focus of the training.

Other clinicians and community partners (e.g. public health, early intervention, managed care, care coordinators, family support organizations etc. ) collaborating with primary care provider COEs or who wish to support evaluations and connection to services are also invited to participate in the training.

The ZOOM videoconference Autism COE training builds on the core concepts and knowledge in the American Academy of Pediatrics' (AAP) free online PediaLink course " Autism Identification and Collaborative Care" . This course has 6 online modules and comes with 3 Continuing Medical Education credits, category 1.
