The Suicide Care Research Center (SCRC) is a NIMH-funded transdisciplinary center at UW working to improve the design and delivery of suicide care for adolescents and young adults ages 13-30 in outpatient medical settings.

SCRC's Pilot Grants Program invites applications from Multiple PI teams for a 2-year R03-level award of $100,000 that will fund pilot or developmental research. In addition, funded investigators will receive dissemination funds for publications, conferences, etc. and be invited to join our Collaborating Scholars Program.

Suicide Care Research Center's Pilot Grants Program

The aim of SCRC's Pilot Grants Program aims to facilitate opportunities for pilot research to address innovative, interdisciplinary research that is consistent the Center's focus, in order to position the investigator(s) for subsequent research that aligns with the Center's program of research.

The program is led by our Team Science Core:

John Fortney, Co-Director
Keyne Law, Co-Director
Tess Grover, Research Coordinator

Our grantees engage in the following activities (described below):

Conduct R03-level pilot or developmental research aligned with SCRC's aims and methodology
Receive consultation with Center methodologists and advisory board members who offer expertise on lived experience with suicidality, policy, and outpatient medical settings
Participate in monthly grantee and Center-wide seminars
Get support for future grant submissions at a grant writers bootcamp
Disseminate and advance scholarship in suicide care research, including through an application for further funding
